Help for Panic

  • Have you had one or more panic attacks?

  • Are you afraid of having a panic attack?

  • Do you struggle with a panic feeling that may not be a full-blown attack?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then there is a good chance that the signaling and feedback systems in your brain and body are misfiring. Either your system is sending alarm signals when they are not needed or it is reading non-alarms as if they are alarms or both. As a result, you have an experience of panic that is real and frightening.

When choosing someone to help you with your panic, it is important to find someone who understands the physiology of what is happening. While your thoughts are part of the panic and using self-talk can help in the moment, what we really want is to re-regulate your physiology and nervous system so that the panic doesn't happen.
